An Iowa native, Matt has deep-rooted experience in nonprofit fundraising and financial technology. Matt started softgiving because he wanted to make a difference for the causes he cares about, so he set out to build a company focused on creating innovative donation options for today’s donors.Prior to softgiving, Matt served as the Regional Payment Association Director at SHAZAM®, a national card network, where Matt played an integral role in building teams, payment security and emerging technologies. Matt has over 10 years of fundraising experience and has served on the Ankeny, Iowa School District Foundation Board of Directors, the NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association® Product and Innovation Standing Rules Group, and Innovative Payments Alliance.
Vice President of Business Development & Sales
David oversees softgiving’s business development and is a financial technology pioneer and entrepreneur. David is also a bestselling author, international speaker, corporate trainer, and executive coach, who has spoken in front of thousands of audiences over three decades.
Prior to softgiving, David founded Goldleaf Technologies, a leading provider of electronic payments software and online banking services to independent financial institutions in the United States. David was also instrumental in establishing electronic banking and payment systems for community banks.
Vice President of Operations & Product Management
Gil leads softgiving’s Product Management and Operations, and is an expert in payments compliance, security, and risk. He has served in several executive positions at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation/RTC, including Associate Regional Director – Finance and Operations. Working on a team in post war torn Bosnia, he assisted the country in rebuilding its banking system. Prior to softgiving, Gil was Vice President at Oglethorpe Management Group where he provided expertise in ACH and RDC compliance, risk, credit and product management for banks and other organizations.
Gil served as Senior Manager of Risk Management and Business Operations at Jack Henry and Associates where he managed the division’s top ten direct merchant portfolio. Prior to the company’s acquisition by Jack Henry, Gil was Senior Vice President of Product Management at Goldleaf Technologies. He is an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) and has participated in numerous NACHA rules committees. He is also a member of the Atlanta Electronic Commerce Forum.
Director of Operations
Danyelle is our Jill of all trades and helps ensure the trains come in on time. She has a passion for people and a background in banking, event promotion and coordination, customer support, and startup communities.Prior to working with softgiving she provided community involvement services for local non-profits, as well as sales, marketing, data testing and product research for local startup companies. She also managed a Skeeball league.
Estel founded Estel Powell & Associates, which works with non-profit organizations to enhance their social media and digital branding to increase their online presence and donations. Specializing in education with automation tools, content creation, reporting and market strategy.Estel was the Professional Services Manager at Jack Henry and Associates, LLC, overseeing the implementation process of major enterprise bank applications in an SaaS environment. Previously he also worked as the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer specifically on the ACH applications, ensuring the software followed all ACH rules, accuracy and consistency of software testing.
