Softgiving was founded, in Des Moines, Iowa by a team with experience in the ACH processing, online payments, and fundraising for non-profits and political campaigns.
Matt Pfaltzgraf is the former Regional Payment Association Director and Product Manager at SHAZAM. His primary responsibilities included overseeing the SHAZAM, Inc. ACH Association, automated clearing house (ACH) processing, and SHAZAM View, SHAZAM’s online training platform. He also collaborated on emerging payments products, like EMV® and tokenization.
Prior to joining SHAZAM, Matt was a campaign manager and advisor for numerous governmental bodies and public organizations, including serving as Deputy Political Director for Governor Chet Culver’s re-election campaign. He also spent two years as a strategic consultant for Public Financial Management, where he worked with states, cities and school districts around the country on emergency budget reform and best practices. Matt served on the NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association® Product and Innovation Standing Rules Group, as well as the Government Relations Advisory Group, Education and Operations Committee, Innovative Payments Alliance, Board of Directors Nominating Committee, and Forum Steering Committee.
Matt currently serves on the Ankeny, Iowa School District Foundation Board of Directors, as well as acting as an advisor to the Ankeny School Board Finance Committee. He’s also a member of the Iowa Association for Financial Professionals and the American Society for Training and Development. Matt earned his Bachelor’s degree in interdepartmental studies with an emphasis on business and political science from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
Gil Grey is the current Vice President of Financial Services at Oglethorpe Management Group. He provides expertise in ACH and RDC compliance, as well as risk monitoring and product management for payments, credits, analysis, and business health trends software for banks and other institutions.
Prior to working with Oglethorp, Gil served as Vice President of Product Management at Q2 Software where he supervised the commercial and cash management products for small and midsize businesses, as well as oversaw the introduction of treasury management offerings. As Senior Manager of Risk Management and Business Operations at Jack Henry and Associates, Inc., Gil was responsible for ProfitStars EPS Division Risk Management for a top ten direct merchant portfolio, in addition to reporting, billing, auditing, and legal operations for the division.
Gil is an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) by the National Automated Clearing House Association, and serves as a member of NACHA Electronic Check and Internet Councils, Atlanta Electronic Commerce Forum, and the Association for Financial Professionals. He received his BBA in Marketing and Management and his MBA in Finance from Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia.
